Simon the Alien?

So I recently saw the movie Paul, and after reading the ‘critics’ wasn’t sure what to expect from Pegg and Frost. As usual the newspapers couldn’t wait to find something wrong with this film and almost all things I read shouted that the dynamic duo we have come to know and love for movies like Shaun of the Dead, just didn’t pull it off this time..

Well how wrong were they! One of the outright funniest movies I have seen this year. For all the parents who took their children to see this one, I feel a little bad for you.. the language was absolutly freakin awesome.. but not necassarily for your 10yr old. But instead of winging and gasping throughout the film, maybe you should have read the rating, cause frankly you rather annoyed me.

On a lighter note the dynamic duo certainly did an awesome job teaming up with Seth Rogan as the voice of the Alien Paul, he was light hearted just like usual and I really felt comfortable with him as a voice rather then an actor.. maybe it just because Paul might have actually been a little more attractive the Rogan.. in a green, big headed kind of way.

The movie was not only hilariously funny, but you really got that all moral feeling toward the end. The acting was spectacular and not once did I find myself checking the time, like so many other recent comedies.

Peg and Frost genious will take us long into the future I think, I’m not quiet sure why but there is something about those two that I think will keep bring new and unthought of ideas to the table.. they are heaven sent (or perhaps dropped by a smarter, funnier life form) in my eyes.

So thanks fella’s for the laughs.. and for not rehashing old ideas!
